The privacy of your information has always been important to me, and I have always been bound by professional standards of confidentiality.

  • I collect nonpublic information about you that is provided by you or obtained by me with your authorization. This information may come from various sources, including information I receive from personal interviews, tax organizers, worksheets and other documents necessary to provide professional services to you.
  • I do not disclose any nonpublic information about my clients or former clients to anyone, except as permitted or required by law, or when necessary to process transactions (such as e-file) as requested by a client.
  • I restrict access to nonpublic information about you to members of our firm who need to know that information in order to provide you professional services.
  • I retain records relating to the professional services that we provide you in accordance with accounting and government standards.
  • I employ physical, electronic, and procedural security safeguards to protect your nonpublic information.
  • I will never sell or give your name to any other organization.

In addition, Michigan's statutory language for Certified Public Accountants regarding confidentiality and disclosure of information may be found in Michigan Occupational Code, Act 299 of 1980, Chapter 399, Section 732.

I am also a member of the American Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) whose web sites are www.aicpa.org and www.michcpa.org/ whose rules must be followed to remain in their good standing.
